Duties and responsibilities of the technology assistant



Technical assistants isolate hardware and software problems, train computer users, and troubleshoot problems with computers and other office equipment. Retailers, offices, and many other companies hire technical assistants to work part-time and full-time, including weekend and night shifts. Technology assistants work in offices and retail stores as part of a technology team and report primarily to the technology manager or supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities of the technology assistant

Job duties vary for technology assistants depending on the hardware and software programs used in the building they work in. However, in any environment, engineers perform these basic work activities:

Provide technical support and training.

Technology assistants provide technical support for using computer accessories and software programs, such as teaching a user how to access e-mail. They also answer questions about the proper use of computer hardware and applications.

Troubleshoot software problems

Keep your computer

The technical assistants maintain the computer so that the software and hardware run smoothly. This includes installing updates and new software, cleaning hardware, and physically cleaning computers and equipment.
