Tasks and responsibilities of the Implementation Project Manager

Implementation project managers lead projects in which new software, devices or technical systems are implemented. You will lead a team that specializes in implementation and ensures that all customer requirements are met during the implementation process. This is a professional position that requires extensive experience in related fields as well as a high level of education. Implementation project managers typically work in an office setting, but often travel when new projects begin for different clients. Implementation project managers often work full-time and often work overtime to meet deadlines after the project is complete. You inform the project manager directly and work closely with the senior management client.

Tasks and responsibilities of the Implementation Project Manager

No two project managers are the same as specific skills differ from employer to employer. However, after analyzing the online job posting, we identified several common tasks and responsibilities for the position:

Participation in contract negotiations

Before a new project can begin, a contract must be drawn up between the customer and the supplier of the new products. Because the project delivery managers work directly with the client during the project's lifetime, they often participate in contract negotiations to ensure that both parties agree on reasonable terms regarding project time and actual performance.

Assess customer needs

Once the project has started, but before implementation begins, the project managers are responsible for assessing the client's exact needs and creating a plan to meet those needs. This assessment usually takes place in the form of numerous meetings with the department heads of the customers and other stakeholders.

Manage the Executive Expert Team

Implementation project managers are responsible for leading a team of implementation professionals who develop new software or configure a client for new devices. They ensure that the teams are involved and that team times are adhered to.

Manage conflicts between local and consumer groups

Sometimes conflicts arise between internal teams and the client during a project. The implementation project managers are responsible for managing this conflict and ensuring that the problem is resolved before the quality of the project is compromised.
