Technical Business Analyst Duties and Responsibilities


Business technical analysts study and redesign IT systems, applications and processes to provide expert analysis of business systems and applications. Business technical analysts study computer hardware and software to identify problems and create new programs. This position reports to a project manager or director and works during the day in an office environment. Technical business analysts must have computer programming skills and business knowledge to perform well in this career.

Analyze calculation functions

One of the main responsibilities of the business technical analyst is the improvement of IT systems and applications, which require analysis and testing of all the systems currently used by the company.

Design programs

Business technical analysts design and write new computer programs and applications.

Try and debug

All new and current applications should be tested and debugged by the technical business analyst on a regular basis.

Problem resolution

Business technical analysts are responsible for researching computer and data systems risks and implementing new programming to address and eliminate these risks.

Write data conversion scripts

Technical business analysts create data conversion scripts to archive data digitally. Some highly confidential information may need to be encrypted before being entered into the system.
